What are Skin Boosters?
Put simply – the term “Skin Booster” refers to any topical biostimulator treatment that is designed to improve skin tone, quality and texture through stimulation of your skin’s own regenerative capacity. This includes such popular treatments as exosomes, PRP, PDRNs (also known as “nucleotide treatments” and many others! All of these exciting new topical treatments share one thing in common – they stimulate your skin to produce more or the collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid that we lose as we age – resulting in smoother, more radiant, and firmer skin over time.
How are Skin Boosters used?
Skin Boosters are applied to the skin after any microneedling or laser treatment. You will not need to have additional injections, or a blood draw!
How long do results last?
Similar to any treatment that causes the skin to regenerate itself (think lasers, microneedling, etc.) the results will begin to be visible in a couple of weeks, and will be fully visible about a month. Three treatments are needed to see fully results – and we recommend that these be done one month apart. Since the results are cumulative over time – we recommend getting a Skin Booster every 3-4 months to maintain your results.
What are the areas that can be treated?
Skin Boosters can be used anywhere on the body that you want to see skin improvement.
What is the comfort level and downtime?
There is no pain involved, as the Skin Boosters are applied to the skin after a laser or microneedling treatment. In fact – Skin Boosters will decrease your downtime by increasing your skin’s ability to heal!
What conditions do Skin Boosters treat?
Skin Boosters will improve tone, quality and texture, and some will also help improve both sun damage and melasma.
Who is a good candidate?
Every patient can benefit using Skin Boosters to improve skin tone, quality, and texture, or to help heal cumulative sun damage.
What are contraindications?
Pregnancy, or active skin cancer.
