How Does LaseMD Work?

With this form of skin tightening in Denver, we can slow the aging process and keep you looking younger for longer. The skin is the largest organ of the body and is made up of 3 key layers – the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutaneous layer.

Epidermis

The epidermis is the outermost layer of skin and is the part you can see. It provides a waterproof barrier which is made up of layers of skin cells. When we are young, the life cycle of a new skin cell is approximately 28 days. As we age this process slows down dramatically, leading to dull and dry appearing skin.

Dermis

The dermis is where our collagen and elastin live. These fibres give support, flexibility and strength to the skin which in turn gives us our smooth and youthful appearance. From age 25, our production of collagen naturally depletes, causing it to show visible signs of aging such as sagging, lines, and wrinkles.

Subcutaneous Layer

Finally, our subcutaneous fat layer provides insulation and padding. As we get older, our fat pads thin and fall with gravity and we lose facial volume, again adding to an aged look. LaseMD works by stimulating collagen production by delivering just the right amount of energy to the right depth within the skin. This energy triggers a natural response within the skin, jumpstarting the regenerative process producing new collagen. The laser creates microscopic channels within the skin which help damaged tissue and unwanted pigment to be removed creating a more even tone and texture. The microscopic channels also act as a pathway for enhanced delivery of vitamins and antioxidants directly to the site they are needed to nourish, repair and further promote healthy skin.

There are many lasers available on the market, but LaseMD is revolutionary in optimal for your skin tightening in Denver for two reasons. The downtime is a fraction of what patients had to deal with in the past for a full resurfacing – which means that you can be back to your normal routine in a day or two. Also – LaseMD is safe for all skin types and conditions with less heat produced compared to similar technologies on the market. With minimal discomfort, there is no need for anesthetic making it a fast and extremely affordable treatment.

What is LaseMD?

LaseMD is a laser skin resurfacing treatment that can stimulate the body’s natural collagen and elastin production to provide healthier, younger-looking skin. This is achieved through non-ablative laser energy, which gently heats targeted tissue in the deeper layers of the skin while leaving the surface layer intact, typically resulting in little to no downtime when compared to the full ablative lasers of the past. LaseMD is a treatment for skin tightening in Denver considered effective for all skin types, with the magnitude of treatment tailored to the severity of one’s skin concerns. Patients often complete a LaseMD session during their lunch break and can resume normal activities immediately for a simple, yet powerful, way to repair sun-damaged skin, reduce fine lines and renew a dull or uneven complexion.

What areas can be treated with LaseMD?

LaseMD can be safely used on any area of the body where you have fine lines and sun damage. The most common area of treatment is, of course, the face, followed by the neck, chest, arms, hands, and shoulders. At RESTOR we like to talk about the “tabletop” presentation. We want all of the skin that is visible when we are sitting at a table to have a unified lustrous and glowing appearance – so what we do to our faces, we should also be doing to our necks, decollete, and hands (as this skin tends to need less – a good rule of thumb is for every four treatments you do on your face, you should do one on your “tabletop”. The Tabletop’s evil twin? Floating Head Syndrome (where the face appears 20 years younger than the neck). Don’t let it happen to you!

Who is a candidate for LaseMD?

LaseMD is appropriate for anyone with sun damage, fine lines, melasma (Yes! I did say Mealsma! Keep reading!), or anyone looking for a brighter skin tone and improved texture. LaseMD is safe for all skin types and colors, and can be used when you skin is tanned as well. If you are looking for laser skin tightening in Denver, you could be a candidate.

What should I expect during and after my LaseMD treatment?

At RESTOR we offer three levels of treatment – depending on your goals and how much downtime will work for you.

LaseMD Light is totally painless, and you will experience only 4-6 hours of redness which will look like a mild sunburn. It is used to treat Melasma, to remove acne, and to give the skin a little “boost” – leading to improved tone, quality and texture of skin. It is not strong enough to remove fine lines or tighten skin. It will remove some sun damage, but to remove significant damage we recommend LaseMD Medium treatments. You’re back in makeup the next day. You know you had treatment done, but no one else does.

LaseMD Medium is a more in-depth treatment to remove sun damage and fine lines. You will feel a “stingly” discomfort, but most patients do not need numbing or pain control. The treatment takes only about 10 minutes – and you will feel residual head and redness for the rest of the day. You will notice redness (like a mild sunburn) that lasts for 2-3 days and

What does a LaseMD treatment feel like?

As the laser passes over your skin, a feeling of warm tingling is common. The intensity of this sensation varies based on the type of treatment being performed – but most people do not require numbing cream or any type of pain control. After the session is complete, it is normal for the face to feel hot for 4-6 hours.

How many LaseMD treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed in order to achieve optimal results can vary from patient to patient depending on the condition or conditions being treated, the patient’s goals for treatment and tolerance of downtime (for example: one LaseMD Deep treatment will do the work of 4-5 LaseMD Light treatments – but has more downtime), and the patient’s skin concerns. During your first consultation, a member of our team will review your desired results, skin type, and primary skin concerns and will help create a customized treatment plan for you that will help you achieve your optimal results.

Can LaseMD be combined with other treatments?

Yes, in fact, it is a great compliment to other treatments such as IPL, Infini microneedle RF, and regular microneedling. It can be done in the same treatment session to enhance results without adding any additional healing time.

Since the LaseMD opens microchannels in the skin, after your treatment we can apply a Masque infused with medical grade topicals which will be able to travel through the open microchannels deep into the skin – enhancing their efficacy. You can chose from PRP (a natural healing and collagen boosting serum made from your own platelets), or hyaluronic acid (a treatment designed to draw water deep into your skin to moisturize from the inside out). Ask us which one is right for you!

What results can I expect from my LaseMD?

You should see a visible improvement in your skin tone and texture following your first treatment of LaseMD skin tightening in Denver. With each additional treatment session you have, you will experience continued improvement in unwanted pigmentation, acne scarring, uneven skin texture, and the overall quality of your skin. Individual results may vary from patient to patient.

Is there downtime with LaseMD?

The downtime varies from 4-6 hours of mild redness like a sunburn, to a few days depending on which type of treatment you chose. Regardless of this, however, you can wear makeup 24 hours after and LaseMD treatment, and so can attend events, or to work, etc. Most of our patients return to their normal routines within a day or two of their treatment session. A member of our expert staff will discuss further post-treatment skin care with your following your treatment session to ensure you achieve the best results.
